Artist Biography
Travis Prince, an accomplished self-taught artist from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, has carved out a distinctive niche in the art world with his compelling and thought-provoking works. Known for his focus on education, social issues, and the black community, Prince's art seeks to celebrate the beauty of the human experience and elevate the everyday lives of African-Americans.
Prince's journey as an artist is as inspiring as his creations. After moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia, he honed his skills under the mentorship of William Harris at the Liberty Town Art Workshop and Gallery. Harris's guidance significantly advanced Prince's techniques, which he continues to develop to this day (Access NEPA).
One of Prince's most notable series is "The Reader," which has been exhibited in various venues, including the Everhart Museum in Scranton, PA.
